Geofabrica CEO provides testimony in support of SBIR Program at congressional hearing

(Auburn Hills, MI – April 6, 2022) – George Caravias, CEO of Geofabrica, provided testimony to the U.S House of Representatives Subcommittee on Research and Technology today. The hearing, chaired by Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens, was entitled “SBIR Turns 40: Evaluating Support for Small Business Innovation.”
The purpose for the hearing was to review the role of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program in translating Federally funded research into commercial development, generating new economic growth, as well as assisting federal science agencies in meeting their respective missions. George joined representatives from the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and Iowa State University.
SBIR Programs fund a diverse portfolio of startups and small businesses across technology areas and markets to stimulate technological innovation, meet Federal research and development needs, and increase commercialization to transition R&D into impact.
